Matt worked at Gate Hill Day Camp for two consecutive summers. His knowledge and professionalism in his classes was outstanding. Our campers, and staff, really enjoyed learning from him.

I first met Matt as a part of a martial arts mentor-ship program a few years ago through the Karate nerds social media page. At the time I had taken a several year hiatus from training in karate due to some financial concerns and training motivation. Matt was kind enough to mentor me, not just in Karate but in life as well. Even though we lived on opposite sides of the Atlantic Ocean Matt made a difference in my martial arts journey. I am able to take his lessons on pushing through the moments where I have no motivation to both my training regimen as well as my personal life. Since that time he has become a friend and someone who I am eternally grateful to!

“Matt worked closely with my socially awkward son, while he trained to get his grading. In that time he gave my son confidence to come out of himself, to be able to speak to his fellow peers, to show his abilities and to have the confidence to work with other’s. Matt was absolutely fantastic with other students and parents as well . Can’t thank him enough for what he’s done “

Matthew was my daughters karate instructor from the age of 6 till around 8. He was very kind and compassionate with all the kids in the class. My daughter enjoyed going to karate every training session and wouldn’t miss any. It helped keep her focused and taught some discipline. Matthew was always very patient with all the kids in the class and was very well liked with all the kids. He always gave each child 100% effort. My daughter very quickly progressed with Matthew coaching.
My son used to come and watch the gradings and Matthew always took time out to talk to him and made an effort to get to know him. This encouraged my son to join karate even though it was never something he had been interested in. He very quickly changed in his behaviour he was always a hyper boy but with Matthews coaching and guidance he settled down into a calm young man. He was always learning about what the kids liked and took an interest in what they had going on outside the karate, for example my son played football and Matthew always made a point of asking how his games went. This was a major relationship builder for all the kids with Matthew. He honestly changed both my kids life’s for the better and still to this day takes an interest in both their lives and congratulates them on any achievements they make. Matthew definitely was the best coach my kids have ever had and I know if Matthew hadn’t moved to further his training my kids would still be training with him. Matthew is a very kind and considerate person. Would definitely grade Matthew a 5/5.
